Join me on our journey of a new business! My husband and I have been talking about flipping houses for the last 5 years! Finally! We did our first flip August 2023 and then another one in February 2024. Boy is there a lot to learn but this has been a long dream for us, and we truly enjoy all the ups and downs.
Where to start?
Getting started for us was the most difficult task. Where do we start? Do we get a loan? How do we find the deals? What happens if we can’t complete the project? There are so many things that can go wrong. We know nothing! This is why it took 5 years to take a plunge!
I think the learning process will continue to grow on every single home we work on, and that is my favorite part about starting this journey. Not only do I love to see the transformation but excitement of figuring out what works and what doesn’t is a lot of fun. Some of the lessons are more painful moneywise, but we live and move along.
Working with a realtor.
Working with a realtor has its pros. There are resources that are available to realtors that aren’t available to the general public, such as off market deals. Which is how we purchased House #2. The house was just inherited, and our realtor reached out purchase it before they could advertise it for sale.
Was the condition of the house worth it?
House #2
Not going to lie, this house was beat up! It wasn’t maintained over the years, and it was pretty old. The house was overflowing with stuff as well. This was something that we thought was going to be beneficial for us. In the long run, it wasn’t worth the hours that were put into cleaning, having an estate sale, then taking everything to Goodwill.
Stay Tuned!
Stay tuned for our flip process.
